Huawei isn’t as popular as Samsung, Techno, or LG in the smartphones market.
But there’s no denying that they’ve stepped up their technology to bring you a phone you can fall in love with at a first glance.
Unlike Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro, the Mate 20 Lite SNE LX3 is a more powerful device that comes at a price that almost feels like a steal.
So if you own an iPhone 6 and need a replacement, this would by far be the best choice to consider.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite SNE LX3 Overview
It’s almost 3 years since Mate 20 Lite appeared in the smartphones market, a month after the debut of Huawei’s Honor 7X.
In less than 26 months, Mate Lite has come more popular than Honor 7X thanks to an improved design, not to mention many premium features.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite is a powerhouse at its best. But before we get down to the performance part in this review, let’s take a quick look at the design.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite SNE LX3 Design
While we haven’t interacted with this smartphone for a longer period, we feel that it has a solid design that can stand up to accidental drops.
Huawei steps up the display by increasing the size of the screen. Standing at 5.93 inches, the Mate 20 Lite has a size that has already become the standard in the modern smartphones’ market.
And when you look at the screen the first time, what strikes you is a clear, crisp display for easy interaction.
You get an aspect ratio of 2:1 for the price, with the phone featuring thin edges and smaller bottom and top. This results in a rather lightweight phone that you can easily carry around all day.
Instead of an all-glass design, Huawei used metal to design the frame and the rear. Moreover, the robust piece of glass house on the LCD panel makes this smartphone an exceptionally well-built piece of tech.
There’s an earpiece at the top center, an 8MP front facing camera for selfies, and a proximity sensor.
On the underside are a micro USB charger port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a speaker that’s loud and clear enough. There are power and volume buttons on the right side, and they’re easy to access while holding the phone with one hand, not to mention very responsive to a push.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite Operating System
Many smartphones that we’ve interacted with do run on Android 5. But while the lollipop is as good as many Android lovers have for years described it, it’s not the latest from Google. And we doubt you’ll see it in future phones.
Many, if not all, of the latest Android smartphones run on Oreo, aka version 8.1. That includes Huawei Mate 20 Lite SNE LX3.
One of the best things about Oreo is just how stable it is. And that makes it more reliable and quite effective when it comes to handling multiple tasks.
Huawei has even gone as far as to add EMUI 5.1 user interface to the system. Build based on the Oreo, it’s an easy to interact with, easy to use interface. So you get an easy to use smartphone for the price.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite Security
Huawei Mate 20 LX3 has enough security options to shield against unauthorized access. And one of the features that you might find interesting is the face recognition technology.
While you don’t have to take advantage of this feature per se, it’s a good option if you want a stepped up security level for your smart device.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite Camera
Dual camera system is the trend in the modern smartphones market.
That’s exactly what you get when you buy Huawei Mate 20 Lite. You can capture photo and videos of whatever kind with the rear camera. And you can take advantage of the front camera to take selfies.
This smartphone features a primary 16MP sensor and a secondary sensor valued at 2 MP. The secondary option is an ideal one if you want to capture images in portrait mod, and it’s actually handy in making sure that an object pops a little more.
The pictures you take will be crisp and very clear. So whether you love selfies or you’re the kind of person that loves to take photos with friends, you will find the camera of this smartphone to be quite handy.
Even the quality of the video is up to the standard. So if you know how to capture special moments in motion pictures, nothing should stop you from doing so.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite Battery Life
Huawei wants you to have the best user experience when interacting with the Mate 20 Lite LXE. To do that, they’ve made sure that the OS not only run your apps smoothly but also the battery provides a decent runtime on a single charge.
To be clear, this smartphone won’t keep charge for more than 24 hours even on moderate. From what we know, at least based on our experience, the battery can go close to 12 hours max with full brightness.
And this brings us to one very important point:
You won’t get a decent runtime if you’re a power user. So either be ready to charge this one at least every 8 or 9 hours, or look for a different smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S8.
One of the things to keep in mind is that this is a cheap smartphone. In essence, it’s a great choice for budget buyers. In other words, if you’re looking for a smartphone for under $200, this is a good option to consider.
It’s great that it has a 4GB RAM. This puts it in the same category with many modern smartphones. Also, it features an internal storage of 64GB, which is enough to store whatever kind of document that you like. You can also add an SD card to the micro SD slot if you need more storage.
